Southwestern Seminary's Women's Programs Are . . .

Biblical. When you leave Southwestern, you will not only know what you believe, but you will also be able to defend biblical truth, whether it is in your home, your church, your community, or the mission field. We unapologetically hold to biblical boundaries and priorities. Our focus is on training women for the unique roles for which God has gifted them. Our method comes from Titus 2:3-5, encouraging woman-to-woman teaching in the lives of our women students.

Scholarly. Prepare to be academically challenged. You will receive instruction in areas such as biblical exposition, church history, leadership, administration, theology, evangelism, philosophy, Greek, and Hebrew. Each class is designed to help you develop a biblical worldview so you will be equipped to defend your faith. "Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more." (Luke 12:48b - ESV)

Personal. All degrees and concentrations within women's programs are designed to be interdisciplinary in nature. Outside of the women's studies concentrations, professors often work with women students to tailor assignments to complement their chosen ministry. For example, you can analyze feminist hermeneutics or research women's roles in the church in Systematic Theology. In addition, the women taking and teaching your classes will be more than study partners and classmates. You meet women who become your mentors, life-long friends, and co-workers in ministry.

Practical. Regardless of what call God has placed on your life, you will find a program to fit. The Doctor of Philosophy will equip you to teach and write for women of all ages. The Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education have two concentrations dedicated to women's studies and women's ministry. The Seminary Studies for Student Wives will guide you in partnering with your husband in ministry. The Leadership Certificate in Women's Ministry is perfect for women who are already actively serving in the local church. The homemaking concentration within the bachelor's degree in humanities will teach you how to nurture and care for your family. As each academic tract offers practical ministry experience through practicums and field education, your comprehensive course of study will prepare you for establishing a home and building a family as well as for the ministry vocation you choose.
